The first production of the Wharf Theatre’s autumn season is Dead Guilty, a tense psychological thriller from Richard Harris, who is perhaps better known as a TV crime writer. In this play of a different genre, he reels in his victim with a satisfying flourish.
When John Haddrell dies of a heart attack at the wheel of his car, the woman beside him is not his wife Margaret, but his lover Julia. Recovering from the injuries she sustained in the crash, Julia is visited by Gary, her gardener/home help, by Ann Bennett, her counsellor, and by Margaret, who knows nothing of the affair. Events then take a sinister turn…..
The show is directed by Tess Richards.
