Fine artist Caroline Rudge is the newest artist in residence at The Pound arts centre in Corsham. Caroline, pictured, will be based in Studio One for up to three years. So far in her career she has produced work to commission, and continues to make work for exhibition.

Her current work focuses on still-life painting. The exquisitely observed birds, beetles, nests and animals are set against rich, precious metal backgrounds, adding opulence to the subject matter.

Caroline’s ambition during her time at The Pound is to develop her work, expand her audience and become a full-time artist, combining the many strands of her practice.

“I’m really looking forward to working in the community setting of The Pound,” she said. “Expanding the breadth of my work by meeting, talking and working with a new diverse and creative set of people is a challenge I embrace.”
