WHAT is it about Marilyn Monroe that has made her such an enduring icon?
Her beauty and sensational smile have inspired a cult which has lasted more than 50 years after her death, and she has passed into popular culture in all sorts of ways.
Members of the Wharf Theatre, Devizes, celebrate her life, with its surface glam and glitter and tempestuous times beneath, in a devised show, in the manner of Marilyn, which has been created and directed by Freddie Underwood.
The show, which opens on Wednesday and runs until next Saturday, adds to the arts offerings in Devizes as part of the Festival.
Featuring many of the Wharf's best-known actresses as Marilyn in her various incarnations, the piece includes music, movement, dance and multi-media, exploring what beauty means and what beautiful people feel.
Tickets, £9, are available now from Devizes Book on 01380 725944.
