NICOLA WALKER is best known as Ruth from the BBC spy drama Spooks. However, film fans will recognise her as the annoying singer from the first wedding in Four Weddings and a Funeral and she has also appeared in ITV drama Touching Evil and other TV programmes.

Nicola is currently appearing in the National Theatre tour of Gethsemane, by David Hare, which is at the Theatre Royal Bath from March 24 - 28.

IF YOU WERE STUCK IN A LIFT WITH SOMEONE, WHO WOULD IT BE?
David Hare (who wrote Gethsemane). I’d like to be stuck in a lift with him because then I could get a private viewing of his one man show, Berlin. I saw it at the National Theatre recently and really enjoyed it. Also, I think he’d be pretty good at getting out of lifts…

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR?
Like every actor I worry that when I finish a job I’ll never work again.

WHAT'S THE MOST EXPENSIVE THING YOU'VE BOUGHT, NOT INCLUDING PROPERTY?
A still life painting by Roger Phelps.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOUR CRIED AND WHY?
On stage in Newcastle this week I had a coughing fit during the performance of Gethsemane. I spent a whole scene quietly choking and weeping, and the cast were amazing, they managed to smuggle some water onto the stage for me.

WHAT'S YOUR INDULGENCE?
Currently on tour I’ve been going to the cinema every day. In fact, quite a lot of us are, it’s funny, we don’t all plan to meet up, but I often turn up to see a film and two or three of the cast are already in there at the back. It’s great, it’s like being back at school.

HOW ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY ARE YOU?
I recycle and I rarely fly. I try to be good! Like everyone else, I try my best.

HOW MANY TEXTS DO YOU SEND IN A DAY?
Too many – many, many too many, I’m obsessed!

WHO'S THE MOST FAMOUS PERSON IN YOUR MOBILE?
Tamsin Greig, who I’m co-starring with in Gethsemane.

WHAT ITEM WOULD YOU NOT LIVE WITHOUT?
My mobile phone and my hundreds of texts.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT YOURSELF WHAT WOULD IT BE?
To not be so dependent on my mobile phone. It drives my husband absolutely mad! But they are the most amazing inventions.
