A play written more than 2,500 years ago is now being brought to life by local students.

The classic Greek tragedy, Oedipus, is being performed by the Cause for Applause company, based at Trowbridge College. In the past they have put on some amazing shows using scripts old and new and are now working on a performance which they hope will be a must-see for all.

They feel the Greek tragedy has twists and turns which are exciting even though people generally know how the story ends!

Tickets at £6 (£5 concs) from the box office on 0845 299 0476.

* The Arc theatre is thrilled to welcome Andy Burden, previously artistic director of The Rondo in Bath, as their new theatre director. Andy who joined the team at the beginning of March, said: “I am delighted to be working at The Arc, the idea is to come in with fresh ideas that help bring more people to this fabulously well-equipped and friendly theatre.”

Andy has already started programming for the autumn/winter season to produce an exciting and diverse season of events. Along with his six years at the Rondo he has also recently directed Peepolykus at the Lyric, Hammersmith, and I Shot Dirty Den for The Natural Theatre Company.
