To come in at quite short notice as a replacement and then play a challenging programme of Schumann and Liszt shows what a depth of talent, and dedication, there is in this young player.
Miss Razumovskaya has a delicate touch with no distracting frills and fancies, and, particularly in Schumann’s Kinderszenen (Scenes from Childhood) she implanted texture and subtle changes of pace. The “hit” number, Traumerei (Dreaming) was just that.
Liszt’s Funerailles, on the other hand, required a totally different approach which she achieved handsomely: Broad, spacious chording, venom and conviction.
How refreshing to hear a young player whose belief in herself is totally justified.
