Trowbridge Youth Choir showed that choirs really are cool last Wednesday, as they took part in a genre-defying celebration show broadcast live on itv.com.
The girls, the youngest of whom is just 12, collaborated at The Big Fix Live! with rappers, an indie group and a pop girl band to create a totally new sound.
The choir, who became ITV Fixers to show other teenagers that choirs were not stuffy and uncool, describe the experience as ‘amazing, and exciting’.
Choir member Megan Gompels, from Easterton, said: “ It’s cool, very different to what we usually do but it makes a nice change and it’s encouraged us to keep the choir going, we’re like a family now.”
ITV Fixers with vinspired.com is a major campaign created by the Public Service Broadcasting Trust, giving young people between the ages of 16-25 the opportunity to tackle any issue that they feel strongly about. What they choose to do is up to them as long as it benefits at least one other person.
