Wolfman filming schedules revealed

SCHEDULES for the filming of horror blockbuster The Wolfman in Lacock have been revealed to those living in the village.

Details revealed about the production, which will star Sir Anthony Hopkins and Benicio Del Toro, includes the use of a smoke machine, which villagers will see billowing from a set at 13 High Street and the use of a cooling system and huge blocks of ice in the historic Tithe Barn, which will pose as an ice house used for the storing of dead bodies.

Film crews will not be setting up a large street scene in the High Street as was first proposed.

The filming will take place on one day, but the preparation will stretch over 10 days in April and will also include four days of clearing up afterwards.

Location manager Emma Pill has told villagers that traffic will only be disturbed when cameras are actually rolling.

She said filming in the Tithe Barn will include the use of two small genie booms and a lighting tower to shine a light through the door.

A donation of £5,000 will be given to the village for the filming and this will be split between the parish council and the National Trust.

The Universal Studios film, which is being directed by Joe Johnston is due to be released in February 2009 and is a remake of the 1941 original.
