JIMMY Osmond, Gareth Gates, Harry Hill and the boys from Strictly Come Dancing are just some of the stars who will be treading the boards at the Wyvern Theatre in the coming months.

The town centre venue has released its line up for winter and spring, which also includes performances from Milton Jones and the Chinese State Circus.

And there is plenty to please everyone with drama from The Woman In Black and Agatha Christie Theatre Company, comedy from Andy Parsons, Chris Addison and Russell Kane, music from The Dubliners and The Drifters and family fun for all ages in the shape of Dora the Explorer and James and the Giant Peach.

There are even delights from the West End including Soul Sister, inspired by the story of Ike and Tina Turner and the award-winning comedy The Rise and Fall of Little Voice.

Richard Loftus, marketing manager of the Wyvern, said: “It is a really great season with lots of exciting productions.

“We have drama, comedy and musicals – there is something to suit every taste.

“I am particularly excited about the events we have got surrounding The Woman in Black. “As well as the performance, we have got author Susan Hill coming to do a talk and there will be a ghost walk through Swindon as well as a session with paranormal site investigators in the town centre.

“These are events that the team have been working on to have add ons for the shows to make it more of an experience and to engage the audience in different ways as well as the production.”

Storytellers from the Roald Dahl Museum will be at the theatre in March during the same week as James and the Giant Peach stars on the stage. And libraries across the town will be giving away 2,000 free copies of The 39 Steps during November to mark the show’s appearance at the theatre in February.

Local talent including Tanwood School for Performing Arts, Judith Hockaday School of Dance and the Kentwood Choir are also set to make an appearance.

And TS Theatre Productions will be performing One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest in November.

Keith Chegwin will be starring in Aladdin from December until January and Richard said ticket sales are going well.

“We are still ahead of where we were last year, which is great,” he said.

“The pantomime will be packed with side-splitting comedy, stunning sets, beautiful costumes and a fantastic cast.”
