Groups helping to improve Corsham have been awarded grants totalling more than £1,000 by the town council for work in the community.
Corsham Town Council offers grants to societies that provide a service to residents, improve their quality of life and make the town a more appealing place to live.
Corsham Choral Society, which regularly puts on performances in the town, has been given £500 towards continuing its work with a professional musical director and pianist helping to develop members’ skills.
Corsham Rugby Football Club has been awarded £500 to help fund some portable floodlights.
Vitalise has been given £181.50, which will go towards respite care breaks the group organises for people with disabilities.
Corsham Town Council Chairman Peter Anstey said: “Yet again, the town council is delighted to be able to help such a wide variety of local projects.”
Any groups wanting to apply for grant funding can visit Corsham Town Hall, call 01249 702130 or visit the website at www.corsham.gov.uk.
