A teenage girl was approached by two men as she walked home through the Silver Street area of Warminster on Friday, one of whom said: “You need to come with me.”
The girl, 16, was frightened by the incident at around 6pm, and ran away from the pair, described as white with short hair, in their 20s. One was wearing a black coat.
Police inspector Lindsey Winter said: “This incident was particularly frightening for the young lady involved, it may have been that the two men never intended this to happen and are completely unaware of the consequences of their behaviour.
“It is extremely disappointing that a young person cannot walk home from town alone without feeling in fear. Whether it was innocent or not I am keen to get to the bottom of this matter.”
Police are examining CCTV footage of the area. Witnesses can call DC Warren at Salisbury CID on 101.
