NEIGHBOURHOOD officers carried out a plain clothes operation in Moredon yesterday evening to target areas where they have had complaints about young people acting in an anti-social manner.
Around 15 youths have been stopped and their details have been taken. Letters will be sent home to their parents and guardians in the next few days to highlight where they have been and what they’ve been doing.
One youth was also caught shoplifting in a local supermarket. He has been taken home by officers and will be dealt with by the Swindon Crime Initiative.
This is a partnership between Swindon Police and the youth offending team which aims to discipline young people, but also find ways of diverting them away from future crimes.
