Freshford Primary School opened as normal today after flooding caused the school to take the unprecedented step of closing early at 12.15pm on Wednesday.
The school website advises parents to drive carefully and to be aware that the river at Freshford is flooded, but is passable with care.
A member of staff at the school said: “The school decided to close after taking advice from B&NES Health & Safety who liaise with the Environment Agency.
“The weather conditions were horrendous and we had no choice but to send pupils home, however it has all cleared up today and school is running as normal.”
