Melksham's all Well and good in the TV spotlight

Putting Melksham on the TV map this week were Graham and Lisa Ellis of Well House Manor, who are appearing on Channel 4’s Four in a Bed.

The couple hosted three other hotel owners in Melksham on Wednesday’s show, taking them on a tour of the town and filling them in on its history. They also met town crier Peter Dauncey, and went for dinner in Melksham's Refa Tandoori restaurant.

Tensions were raised when Scottish hotelier Chic Henderson questioned the couple’s focus on IT training, but Mr Ellis was happy with the show.

He said: “We’re delighted with how the edit was done and how it all went. The big showdown is on Friday night, where we all meet up and watch it all back. Our website traffic went up a hundredfold during the show.”

All five episodes will be repeated on Saturday at 11.30am on Channel 4.

Dinner was taken with our good friends at the Refa Tandoori and not at the restaurant named in the article. Many of our hotel guests go to the Refa in the normal run of events (it wasn't just a show thing!) and they're always very happy with the food and service.
