Aaron’s confidence soars after getting new teeth in Adver Christmas wish
AFTER being nominated to have his wish granted by the Adver, Aaron Morrissey has gained more than just his two front teeth for Christmas.
The 29-year-old childcare student, of Penhill, has been fitted with a partial denture after his fiancee Ellen Coad wrote to us during our Christmas Wish campaign last month.
Aaron, whose treatment has nearly finished, said his new look has already given his confidence a boost.
“When I first looked in the mirror it was brilliant. I have been so much more confident since I’ve had them in. I feel so much better about myself,” he said.
“It feels weird being able to smile but it is a good feeling. I’ll be able to smile in pictures now.
“It affects my speech at the moment because I’m not used to it yet.”
Aaron had hated his smile since he damaged one of his front teeth on a football pump when he was a teenager. His teeth got worse over the years and he had to have the front two taken out.
Aaron and Ellen, who have been engaged for two-and-a-half years, will be tying the knot on August 30 at Swindon Register Office now that Aaron has his new smile.
“We have got most of the wedding sorted now. We have just got to get the cake, Ellen’s dress and my suit,” he said.
“Ellen thought my teeth looked weird to start with because she wasn’t used to it but she thinks they look a lot better than they used to.”
Aaron’s treatment took place at Seven Fields Dental Health Centre at Groundwell Farm.
He will be returning on Wednesday so they can check the partial denture fits properly, and he is also due to have his other teeth deep cleaned.
Ellen, 27, nominated Aaron for the Christmas Wish because of the support he gave her when their son, Tyler, was born last year.
“He has been my rock for the last few years, especially when I got taken into hospital to have our son,” she said. “He was there from the opening to closing of the visiting hours. I had to have a c-section and couldn't move for weeks after, and he was brilliant.
“He’s a lot more confident now, and that’s thanks to you for choosing him. So thank you.”
