New classes have started at Calne Leisure Centre on Tuesday and Friday evenings for adults to come along and learn the ancient art of Ninjutsu.

Anyone is welcome to come along to Calne Budo for the first three lessons where there is no obligation to become a member. Classes take place every Tuesday and Friday from 6:30 to 8pm at Calne Leisure Centre, White Horse Way, Calne. Students can come along to just one or both classes per week.

Beginners start with a white belt, similar to other martial arts. When graded for the first time students will earn a green belt and the rank of 10th Kyu. The green belt stays with you as you progress through the Kyu grades, from 9th Kyu up to 1st Kyu. This is followed by a black belt at Shodan level (1st Dan). The maximum level you can reach in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is 15th Dan.

Calne Budo is run by Jamie Wilson, who started Shotokan Karate in 1988 and went on to dabble in boxing and Kung Fu. In the beginning of 2005 he found Ninjutsu and he currently holds the rank of 3rd Dan For more information about Calne Budo and Bujinkan, or to speak to Mr Wilson about starting Ninjutsu call 07766 770991 or visit www.calnebudo.co.uk.
