Snow has brought flights to and from Bristol Airport to a standstill this morning (Friday).

All flights are currently suspended and passengers are advised to check the status of their flights by visiting www.bristolairport.co.uk/flights-from-bristol/arrivals.aspx.

In Corsham, commuters suffered traffic delays when a bus was caught in the snow at around 7.45am. 

 

The vehicle, which has now been removed, was travelling along Westwells Road caused delays for motorists as it partially blocked the road.


The A303 south of Warminster is currently blocked with queuing traffic behind a broken down lorry.


Congestion is on the stretch of the road eastbound between the Chetcombe Road junction in Mere and the A350 turning in Kingston Deverill.


Motorists are being advised to only make necessary journeys and exercise extreme caution when travelling.

 

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "There have been a few incidents involving people getting stuck and minor road traffic collisions but thankfully we haven't seen anything serious. 

"The message would still be if your journey isn't essential then don't make it."

 

The police are working with the Highways Agency to ensure roads are constantly gritted.


In Bradford on Avon, the number 98 bus service, which travels between the town and Westwood, has been suspended because of the snow.


While there are delays on the M4 westbound between junction 16 for Swindon West and junction 17 for Chippenham because of an accident, with traffic travelling at around 35mph.
