Wiltshire Police is searching for three people after a Trowbridge taxi driver was assaulted on the morning of New Year’s Day.

The man picked up the two men and a woman at the taxi rank, in Market Street, at around 1.30am, taking them to Chantry Gardens in Southwick.

The three passengers got out the taxi without paying, walking down an alley, and the driver was attacked when he followed them.

He received head injuries and was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for treatment before being discharged.

The first man was described as being a white clean shaven man, in his mid 20s, between 5ft and 5ft 4in tall, wearing a short-sleeved round-necked T-shirt and blue jeans.

The second man was also white, in his early 20s, between 5ft and 5ft 4in tall, having short bleached blond hair, wearing a short sleeved round-necked T-Shirt, and light brown cotton trousers.

While, the woman was described as being white, between 16 and 25, very slim, with black shoulder-length hair, wearing a short sleeved white round-necked T-shirt and short black skirt.
