A POPULAR Broad Hinton pub has seen its price slashed in an attempt to find a new owner.

Barbury Inn on the A4361 was put on the market in October at £295,000 but this has been slashed by £70,000 because the owner wants to buy another property.

The freehouse is on the market with Colliers International, who are stepping up efforts to find a buyer by Easter.

Colliers director Simon Wells said: “We have been asked to find a purchaser keen on acquiring a fully operational and refurbished pub for the sort of money people would normally expect to pay for a closed and run-down property.

“The Barbury would be well suited to an enthusiastic couple who want to be ‘hands on’. At this price they will be getting their hands on a real Wiltshire gem.”

The pub is midway between Swindon and Devizes and has been extensively refurbished.

Mr Wells said: “The business is on target to take over £200,000 net of VAT this year, so we are not looking for much more than turnover.

“The Barbury Inn has had a lot of money spent on it and it is very good indeed, particularly when compared to the closed pubs which are available at the same price. This has turnover and profit and is ideal for working owners.”

The property also includes accommodation comprising of six large rooms, a kitchenette, bathroom, a separate WC and shower on the first and second floors.
