Man admits to repeated wife attacks

A MAN, aged, 33, who repeatedly assaulted his wife has been remanded in custody by a judge.

Aaron Collett also admitted witness intimidation when he went to her home and again assaulted her and damaged property.

He pleaded guilty to five counts of common assault, one of criminal damage and one of intimidation when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court.

Collett carried out the first two assaults on wife Hannah within a few days; the first on Sunday, November 4, then on the following Thursday.

The second two assaults both took place on November 21, after which she made a complaint to police.

Collett, formerly of West-bury but who gave the court an address in Woolpack Meadows, Trowbridge, then committed the final three offences on New Year’s Day.

He assaulted Mrs Collett and damaged a patio table and window at a time when he knew she was to be a witness in a criminal matter.

Mike Jeary, defending, said Collett had only that day decided to admit the charges.

Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to February 15 for a report and remanded Collett in custody until then.
