A book celebrating the 200th anniversary of Trow-bridge’s Zion Baptist Church has been launched.
Two Centuries of Grace – A History of Zion Chapel Trow-bridge, by Andrew Jones, was first planned when he spoke to his great aunt, Winnie Sykes, in 1974 about the church.
Mr Jones said the 200-year milestone was the perfect occasion to write his book.
He said: “We are only 200 once, so we have got a lot of things lined up to celebrate.
“The book documents the ups and downs, with one of the highlights being the appointment of its first pastor, John Warburton in 1815, who stayed in his role for 40 years.”
The church, in Union Street, was formed on January 6, 1813.
