WITH Swindon Town boss Paolo Di Canio threatening to quit the club, the Swindon Advertiser has launched a campaign urging him to stay at the County Ground.

To kick off our campaign, we are asking supporters to post their messages persuading Di Canio not to leave.

Leave your comment for Di Canio by logging onto the Swindon Advertiser website and clicking on the ‘comment’ section.

Once we have collated all your posts we will present them to Di Canio personally at Thursday’s press call at the County Ground.

Just go, check out, depart etc. STFC have always been a tin-pot club. Youve improved your CV and a host of well run clubs will have you. Dont waste your time trying to make STFC bigger, Beckham tried it in America and that wasnt a success. Try Italy, -home is where the heart is- No doubt you will be kept in high regard for what you have done for this club either way.

Paolo, please do not go you have done a fantastic job it would be a real shame not to complete it, I have supported STFC for over 27years through thick and thin but I cannot remember a time when it was as exciting as it has been since you came to manage the club. I have told other members of my family these are special times at STFC and to cherish them they don't come along too often. So please let the dust settle see what the new owners have to say and complete the job you started I am sure it is your destiny to do so! When you take us to the championship I would like you to stay on but I think at that point you will have multiple offers for higher things, but in my opinion you are always welcome here.

Paolo, Please do not leave!! before you came to the club, we were in desperate need of a decent manager. Then when you came along, we got (and more !!) of what we needed! you have helped this club improve so much by using your knowledge and expertise of the game. it would be so sad to see you leave as you have become part of Swindons Family. it would not be the same without you as you have been the best manager for a verrryyy long time. You have not just been wonderful to the club, you have been great to the town. Your enthusiasm has rubbed off on so many people, Swindon who were a household name in 1969 have again become one and people all over England perk up when Swindon is mentioned.

Until last season we were another club. Under you we have become a big Club. The "Shots" program says so, because everyone knows the team you have built, and continue to build want to win and win well. And when we do that gees you up and every body feels geed up.

You may not be a Wltshire man but you are the closest thing to gold dust this county has ever had. Of couse you must stay. I have been supporting this team since before 69, and only once since (not Hoddle but when Alan Mayes was up front) did I feel the pride of 69 again, untll last year that is. Despite the directors problems, the team still stands tall and proud and you Mr Di Canio are the reason why

The town needs you to stay, the fans want you to stay, the team needs you to stay. What more do you need?

Paolo you inspired me to become a season ticket holder again with your passion, drive, enthusiasm and fantastic devotion to STFC.

You inspired me to introduce my 6 year old grandson (who does not live in Swindon) to STFC and he now loves you and the club - you made this happen.

I ask that if it is at all possible for you to do so, stay with us and see through this awesome and special job that you have started.

You have brought back the pride to this town and we want and need you to stay!

You have single handedly started a revolution at Swindon, a revolution that is destined for great things. The last 18 months have been the most exciting times this club has seen in decades!

in april i am on my way from Australia to the county ground to watch Swindon play Crewe and one of the main reasons for coming is to watch PDC on the sideline show his passion for the game and the club he is the best thing to happen at Swindon for a long time, if you are going to go PDC please stay and get us in the Premier League before you go cause without you we wont make it and will go backwards as a team. This will be my first visit in 57 years so look forward to seeing you there Paolo. Please dont go.

I too have been a Town fan since the sixties - and through the bad times and the few good times I have followed my hometown team. In all those 50 years I believe that we have only ever had two managers worth their weight, managers who were capable of building a team worth following all over the country. Paolo, I doubted you when you were chosen for the job, and I wasn't too keen on several of your purchases.

The point is though...you live breath and bleed Swindon. You inspire the players, the fans, and even people who were only half-hearted supporters. In 35 years I've never known the Swindon fans adore a manager in this way...and deservedly so!

Someone in your position does not have to do the job for the money; financial security through your success on the field has seen to that. Swindon Town has as its manager an honest, self-sacrificing man whose goal is to fufil the promise he made to the fans, the club, but, most of all, to yourself. That goal is within reach one year ahead of schedule and next season, Swindon Town will be in the Championship. Don't leave now and forever think, "What if?". Just heard Matt Ritchie's interview on 5 Live. Apart from the absolute praise for Paolo, he mentioned "Us" and had to be reminded by Mark Clements that he is no longer a Swindon player! He says it's not the first time he's said that since moving.

after reading all your posts of Paolo dont go ..I now live in Yorkshire and have to travel 186 miles to watch my beloved town at home.I went to the final in 1969 and recently to the j p final and all games in the yorkshire area .But i dont think the board or Paolo has been fair to the supporters of the club as they are the people that put there hard ernt money into the club..Did Mancine throw his dummy out when Barotelli left MC .Your good for the town PAOLO but one man dont make a club ..

Paolo, you are the most popular and most well respected manager at SN1 in many years (probably even more respected than Lou Macari and Glenn Hoddle!)

You only have the best of intentions for Swindon Town, and your record speaks for itself. You've given us fans hope and belief when it had gone under Paul Hart.

Yes, the people behind the scenes might not have a clue, and we might not believe what stories they are spinning, but we believe in you and what you want for us. Be strong, and stand firm. You have my support and the support of thousands of others proud to call themselves Swindon Town fans.

please paolo please dont go i have been going to watch the town since 1968 as an 8 year old.i am ill now with mental health problems and cant get out the house at times .but i go through hell at times just to get to the county ground but i persist as i enjoy it after the game and raise your scarf and it makes me feel good inside ,and i thank you for that.and god bless you.thanks for a great time.

Please don't leave PDC. This is not a problem you have caused; but one you can overcome. Your first massive challenge. You are passionate, determined and driven to succeed, a trait that you have instilled in your players and now the fans.
You are not a quitter, but a fighter. If you manage to get us promoted in times of adversity it will be one of the best achievements by any manager; let alone one as inexperienced as yourself.

Paolo, I watched my first game at Swindon in 1947 as a three year old. I've seen all the high's and lows , we've had some good managers in that time , Bert Head, Danny Williams, , Lou Macari, Ossie Ardiles and Glen Hoddle, we've had a few bad ones also.

However I have to say that above all those good managers one is really outstanding. That man is Paolo Di Canio, a legend in his own time. By far the best manager that Swindon Town have ever had. I applaud Jeremy Wray for giving you the chance in management, I applaud him also for giving us fans the opportunity to see a genius at work.
We all know how hard you work, how thorough and methodical you are and how you expect your players to be, we love this about you.
Football at the County Ground has never been so enjoyable. You have the love and respect of the fans and importantly the love and respect of the players.
We all know how let down you feel , we fans feel your pain and feel let down also.
If you feel you have to move on then so be it , but if you do go then myself and thousands of other fans will be really gutted.
My suggestion and hope is that you will be able to talk to the new owners and get assurances from them that they will allow you to finish the great job you are doing. I think the new owners will be on the same wavelength as you and give you the tools to continue and finish your great work .
You said you had a dream to lead Swindon out at Old Trafford, I still hold that dream.

I want you to stay at Swindon all the other fans want you to stay. So Paolo PLEASE STAY !

Paolo, you have brought us up exactly when we needed it. We hoped and prayed for a decent manager and you came along. That day we got so much more than a decent manager, we got someone with an instant passion for the club and someone who has got the boys motivated just by the passion you have.
I've been brought up as a Swindon fan from the moment I was born and I can honestly say that I have never been so proud to be a part of the Red and White community than I am now since you've come along.

Whatever you decide you must know that you will always be a legend to the Swindon fans. It would be terrible if you did not continue your journey with us. You have put your heart and sole into the club and you have every right to feel frustrated but you are not a quitter.

Football is about highs and low but as a "family" together we can move on from this.

A quitter is one thing all fans of STFC have learnt you aint. Don't quit on us now! we all can understand just how frustrated you are at how you and all your staff and players have been treated by the board. But through thick and thin the fans have stood by you and now were asking you no pleading, begging you to stand by us and continue with the job in hand. Your a man of your word you promised us championship football in 3yrs but personally i believe we could make premier league by then. Since you joined us you've made people in the football community stand up and take notice of Swindon town fc and realize we are not just a lower league club we are a team with a following of loyal and dedicated supporters and no other team high or lower leagues fans have more passion than us you share that passion and we respect and honor you for that

Paulo, I do not have time to read all the other postings and everybody will l have a story to tell but can only speak from my heart. I have followed Swindon for five years after a visit to Camp Nu just after my children lost their dad to cancer. My son was so excited but it was an empty stadium- he had not heard the roar of a crowd. I made a decision that day to be "dad" and we started following Swindon so we could enjoy the crowd, the football, the atmosphere, the drama and boy oh boy have you given us drama and we have enjoyed every single minute. When we first started coming, the average gate was 4,000 and our season ticket sales is above that now and that is a credit to you. May I remind you that there is no other club including Man U who stays behind after a match, humming in unison, waiting for their hero to hold his scarf aloft. You have bought a passion and desire to our players, the level of fitness is apparent (Ferry lost a stone easily and is a terrier for it, running amock in midfield and stealing that ball from the opposition). I have read your autobiography and you are NOT a quitter. Think back to the Danny Wilson days!!!!! You do not give in. You believe in yourself and your team and nobody beats Paulo down. We went to Crawley last year, having made no plans to go, purely based on your radio interview. "" I laugh in th face of 60,000 Man U supporters" There have been times when I have crinched at your decisions then reflected on your book- you always have a reason for your actions and you are always right given the time to prove it. You lost your mum and dad last year which was trajic but you held your head high, you ploughed on with determination and with the single minded ambition to be the best and show the doubters, the moaners, the negative commentators that WE can do this, we can go up, we did it last year and can do it again. For me Paolo Di Canio was a boyhood hero alongside Alan Shearer and ooh Shaun Taylor. The passion he displayed on a pitch was no like no other player I had seen before and he had the skill, flair and determination to match.
When he became our manager it was a dream come true for me. I knew what we were getting and boy he has well and truly delivered and then some. In 20 years of supporting the reds I've never known passion, grit and determination like it from both our players, fans and manager. Paolo united not just a team but the players, fans and a town! I never felt the buzz of football like this! Paolo has got us hooked and I don't want to let go.

What other manager would run on a pitch, salute the fans like a brother, clear snow off of our pitch, buy pizza for the fans, taunt the opposition and hold his scarf up high like me and you?

The word legend is one i use rarely but that would be one word I would use to describe Paolo both as a man and as our great manager

Paolo is a one in a million and he's swindons one in a million hopefully for a few years more!!! Don't go Paolo! We love you!!

In Paolo we trust!

Brilliant post Chrystovski I agree with with all you post I've been supporting the club for 40 years since 1972 and whilst I've seen some good managers out here I'm talking Lou Macari, Ossie Ardilles, and Glen Hoddle . PDC is the most passionate entertaining and charismatic manager we've had we must keep hold of him or were only going to go one way, the same way as the poxford scum and that's down.

Paolo, its difficult to know what to say as words cannot describe my gratitude to what you have done in your time at Swindon. In all my years as a fan I have never seen SO many supporters show SO much love and devotion to a manager but you are much more than that to us. Your interaction with us, your passion, your no nonsense approach to anyone who doesn't give 110% to wear the shirt strikes such a cord with the fans it feels like an actual Swindon fan is managing the club: you feel like one if us. I hope for the future of Swindon Town FC that you stay as long as possible but of course I, and I'm sure many others, will not blame you when you decide to move on and that club will be lucky to have you.

If Paolo goes, it would not be like losing a manager, more like losing a brother. We have grown to accept him as one of our own, somebody that shows the same passion and desire that we feel for the club. However, if he does leave, I hope he takes with him fond memories and we I know would wish him nothing but the best for the future.
However, the grass is often not greener on the other side and with him, I truly believe we could do a Wigan or Swansea.

Paolo - when I think of Chelsea and Southampton I realise the grass is not greener elsewhere. The fact is we are your red army and we want to continue to be.

Sadly only a small percentage of supporters see this website, but I am confident I speak for them all when I say We Want You To Stay and fight the board of directors in the same way you urge your team on the pitch. We are with you and you can do it.

And what a great result last night. Well done.

Paolo, watching Swindon play now is inspirational. The fans love it, the players love it and it's all because you have given your heart and soul to make our club great again. You inspire everyone with your enthusiasm, honesty and integrity. You instill so much energy into the whole club.
