Brass band’s history notes

THE Friends of Aldbourne Band launched their new project to publish the 150-year story of Aldbourne Brass Band at their Golden Anniversary Concert.
The Aldbourne Band Heritage Project has been given £7,700 from the Heritage Lottery Fund to digitise photographs and documents for future generations to access.
The launch was combined with a recent concert in Immanuel United Reformed Church, Swindon.
Anyone with old programmes, photographs, newspaper clippings, magazine articles, old instruments, notices or banners is asked to call heritage project manager Gavin Dixon on (01672) 541204 or email heritage@aldbourne-band.co.uk The Friends of Aldbourne Band will hold a open day at Aldbourne Memorial Hall on Saturday, April 27, from 10am to 1pm.
