Catherine Davis is leaving her post as headteacher of The Trinity Primary School, Devizes.

Miss Davis joined The Trinity’s predecessor, St Peter’s Primary School in Bath Road, as headteacher in September 2009.

During her time there the school improved from inadequate to satisfactory under Ofsted inspections.

A replacement school for St Peter’s was needed as the number of pupils in that area of Devizes was dwindling

The Trinity Primary School was built next to the new houses by Quakers Walk, off London Road, Devizes, and it opened last Easter.

Miss Davis was unavailable for comment but on the schooll’s website it said she will be leaving in the spring and would be moving to London where she has secured a job as a headteacher.

Writing in St John’s and St Mary’s parish magazine Peter Goodliffe, vice-chairman of governors at The Trinity, said: “Catherine has worked so hard for the school since becoming head in 2009 at a time when it was in need of significant improvement. This she has achieved and has guided the school whilst moving to its new buildings at Quakers Road. We thank her and wish her well in her new post in London.”
