Lotto bosses are looking for the owner of an unclaimed £60,000 winning ticket in the Chippenham area.

A prize of £60,678 has yet to be claimed and National Lottery players are being urged to check and double-check their tickets for the chance to claim this life-enhancing prize.

The ticket was bought in January in the Parliamentary Constituencies of Chippenham and North Wiltshire.

The mustery winner matched five numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto draw on Saturday January 26. The winning Lotto numbers on that date were 2, 6, 21, 29, 34, 47 and the bonus ball was 11.

The lucky ticket-holder has until Thursday July 25  to claim their prize.

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest it has generated, will go to The National Lottery Good Causes – adding to the £29 billion already raised through sales of lottery tickets since The National Lottery launched in November 1994.

A National Lottery spokesman said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life. We’re urging everyone to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.

“Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa – someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune! We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”

To jog players’ memories, Scream & Shout by Will.i.am ft. Britney Spears topped the UK singles chart at the time, whilst the cast of Les Miserables were at the top of the album charts with a collection of songs from the film version of the musical.

Football fans may remember that Swindon Town were not in action on the day of the Lotto draw, as it was FA Cup fourth round day and the team had already exited the competition. However, the Robins returned to League One action on 29 January when the team was held to a goalless draw away at Leyton Orient.

Away from sport, locals may have taken a trip into Salisbury to see a production of the interestingly titled A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings, which was being performed at Salisbury’s Playhouse theatre.
