A heavy goods vehicle ended up on its roof in a ditch today (February 15), after colliding with a Honda Civic at 9.30am on the A36 near Upton Scudamore.

Police and ambulance crews arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and both drivers were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The woman driver of the Honda Civic was taken to Salisbury District Hospital with a minor head injury and back pain.

While the driver of the lorry, a man, was taken to the RUH in Bath as a precaution.

The road, between the A3098 and A350 junctions, was later closed at 11.30am for two hours to allow for the overturned HGV to be recovered from the side of the road.
