The funeral of 10-year-old Jemima Prees, who died in a skiing accident in Austria last week, will take place in her home village on Friday.

Jemima was killed on Sunday, February 10, when she veered off-piste and collided into a tree at the Mayrhofen resort, while on holiday with her family.

Her father Tim, 50, a lawyer in Devizes, and her brother Barnaby, a student at Bangor University, both witnessed the accident.

Barnaby performed CPR for 40 minutes, which enabled her organs to be donated to potentially save four other lives.

Jemima was a pupil at Calder House School, in Colerne, while her older sisters Olivia and Annabel attend Hardenhuish School in Chippenham, where staff have pledged their support to the family.

Hardenhuish headteacher Jan Hatherell said: “Our job is to try and support the two siblings Olivia and Annabel, who are members of our school community in these most trying of times, to help them to continue to work on their schoolwork while being in a quite fragile state and give them every opportunity for support that they need.

“Our pastoral managers are available if they want to talk outside of the family. It is our job to provide a safe haven for our pupils.”
