Photographers received an insight into the invention of the image at a special evening at Lacock.
Fox Talbot Museum curator Roger Watson gave a talk on his soon-to-be-published book ‘Capturing the Light’ to the group of 30 photographers who gathered at the National Trust museum to commemorate William Henry Fox Talbot.
Each year on Talbot’s birthdate, February 11, Wiltshire Times photographer Trevor Porter organises a social evening to celebrate the work of Talbot. This year Mr Watson was able to show the proof copy of the book that outlines the invention.
Mr Watson said: “This captivating book traces the true story of two very different men in the 1830s – Henry Fox Talbot and Louis Daguerre – both striving to solve one of the world’s oldest problems: how to capture an image, and keep it for ever.”
The book is due for release in April.
