Four pupils from Dauntsey’s School at West Lavington have raised money to aid teenage cancer victims by taking part in a gruelling and muddy challenge.

Fifth formers Harry Mangham, Ed Young, Tom Parker and Tom Middleton competed in the Tough Guy Challenge over a course at Nancherrow, Cornwall.

The boys took on one of the toughest assault courses in the world to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and have raised over £1,451.

Ed Young said: “Someone very close to us and our community has very sadly developed cancer, and we decided to do the toughest assault and run in the world to support them and their family through this tough time. “This is a really good charity to support because it is directly supporting the family and our friend in need. When someone in our close-knit Dauntsey’s community is in need I think every one should jump to support them.”

The boys took their preparation seriously and training involved immersing themselves in cold baths. Tom Middleton’s preparation was even more crucial as he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes two years ago. Donations can be made at www.justgiving.com/ tomedtomtoughguys
