Malmesbury meeting on local plan

Malmesbury residents may have their views heard on the town’s draft neighbourhood plan next month, providing the town council votes to allow the official consultation at a meeting tonight.

The plan, which was first published last month and has already undergone amendments, requires a vote from each parish council before residents are allowed to officially comment on it.

Once the draft plan is at the public consultation stage, residents, local organisations and council members will have the opportunity to comment and put forward their views.

The special meeting is open to the public who are welcome to attend and ask questions.

If councillors vote in favour of publication, the first of two six-week public consultation periods will begin on March 5.
