The stories of Beatrix Potter were brought alive at a Calne school as it chose the stories of Beatrix Potter for its book week theme.
This year is the 70th anniversary of the death of the much-loved children’s author and pupils at St Margaret’s Preparatory School were reminded of why the stories have stood the test of time. Children from all year groups were inspired to create their own stories, poems and paintings, based around the well-known characters.
The whole school also took part in workshops with visiting performance poetry group Poetry Slam.
Teacher Sarah Giles said: “All of the children have really loved reading the books or hearing the stories and have been inspired to create their own work. The books can be enjoyed on a number of different levels.”
