Corsham footballers’ goal is cash for charities

Following the success of their recent charity match, Corsham footballers Craig Gingell and James Whitehead are hitting the right note with a new fundraiser.

The pair have organised a night of music at the Corsham Community Centre on March 15, in aid of two worthy causes.

Mr Whitehead is raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, on behalf of former teammate Martin O’Shea, who was diagnosed with the illness last year. Mr Whitehead raised more than £3,000 with a charity football match last month Former Corsham Town captain Mr Gingell was inspired to support Kidney Research UK by his cousin Kim Coulson, who raised thousands of pounds for the charity before she died of kidney disease in January.

The charity night will feature live music from Corsham blues band the Corinthian Casuals, a DJ set and a ‘super raffle’, with prizes worth more than £600.

The show starts at 8pm, with tickets on the door at £6, or £5 in advance. Call James Whitehead on 07584 359501 for more details.
