Sam’s set for Super trek from Trowbridge

One primary school pupil is doing his bit for Comic Relief by cycling from Trowbridge to Bath on his dad’s old bike.
Sam Walker, seven, who attends North Bradley Primary School, will go along the canal path on the Raleigh Super Burner restored by his grandad, Andrew Walker.
The bike was a childhood favourite of Sam’s father, Julian, and the pupil hopes it will power him to Red Nose success on March 16.
He said: “I just want to help as many people in need as I can. I’ve been practising every day and I’m looking forward to it.”
Sam will be supported by other members of his family.
Mother Clair Walker, of Park Street in Trowbridge, said: “He set a target to raise £50, but he’s already at £55, so he now wants to raise £100. He’s really excited.”

Naadia Ahmed-Sheehan, 11, a Year Six student at West Ashton Primary School, is being sponsored to have her hair chopped into a pixie cut at Number Twelve salon, Warminster Road, Westbury, at 3.45pm on Thursday.
So far, she has raised £95 and will be collecting for Comic Relief on the day. Her hair is being donated to make wigs for children who are battling cancer.
Staff at Sainsbury’s in Bath Road, Melksham, will get into the fundraising spirit with a Harlem Shake internet dance sensation.
Employees will do the wacky dance down the aisles at 10am and 4pm in their Red Nose Day celebrations.
Customer service manager Vicky Yoxall said: “We’ve got lots going on, including a car wash from 10.30am to 3.30pm. It’s £3 a car and a group of girls from the store are going to dress up as superheroes to wash cars.”
A dinosaur event will take place at Paxcroft Mead Community Centre, Hackett Place, during Tumble Tots sessions between 11.35am and 1.30pm next Friday.
Children and parents can dress in red or as a dinosaur for a treasure hunt and cake.
This year, Comic Relief is celebrating its 25th anniversary and Red Nose Day is on Friday, March 15.
