PRIMARY school students from west Wiltshire descended on Brokerswood to test out their navigation skills.
On Wednesday, the country park near Trowbridge hosted an orienteering taster session, as part of the West Wiltshire School Sports Partnership.
Run by the British Orienteering Federation and Sarum Orienteering Club, it gave pupils in years five and six a two-hour session of introductory coaching and orienteering.
James Coomber, a year five teacher and PE co-ordinator at Bowerhill Primary School, Melksham, said: "I took eight children along and they loved it."
The West Wiltshire Schools Sports Partnership is based at Kingdown School in Warminster, and involves all the primary and secondary schools in the district, with the aim of involving more children in sport.
