Have say on housing spending

Housing association Aster is urging tenants to have a say about how money should be spent in their areas.
Its Neighbourhood Approach scheme will give tenants of homes owned by Aster Communities or Synergy Housing a greater say in how the firms operate.
Areas will be split into zones and each will have its own neighbourhood panel.
The panels will have individual budgets and work with Aster Communities to decide how funding is invested.
Aster has been holding sessions to outline how the panels will work. The next one is at the Moonrakers pub, Nursteed Road, Devizes, today, from 4pm to 6pm.
Julian Paine, regional director for Aster Communities, said: “The Neighbourhood Approach will help us make a positive difference to the local communities we work in. It gives more power to our customers. They already play an active role in deciding how they can improve their own areas, but this will give them even greater input.”
