A young Westbury woman assaulted a woman and spat at a police officer after being refused entry to a nightclub in Trowbridge.
Kirsty Rebecca Youens, 20, of Paxmans Road, told police she could not remember much about the January 20 incident because of alcohol.
Police said Youens was on top of the woman in the street, with her hands around her throat.
Nick Barr, prosecuting, said Youens launched herself after the woman shouted at her. She was abusive and twice spat at PC Tottle.
Youens wept as defence solicitor Helene Gibbs told the court: “She was disgusted by her behaviour and language and has expressed her sincere regret and apologies.
“She has never been in court before and says she will never return.”
Youens pleaded guilty to the assault charge during an appearance at North West Wiltshire Magistrates’ Court last Friday.
She was convicted of two counts of assault and magistrates ordered her to pay £150 in compensation to Keilea Wheeler and £50 to PC Tottle, plus £85 in court costs.
