Mums from Melksham are being invited to the retirement party of one of the town’s longest serving midwives.
Sally Carr, who has been delivering Melksham babies at Trowbridge Birthing Centre for 14 years, is due to retire later this month. To mark the end of her long career, any children and parents who have known her can attend a tea party at the Canberra Children’s Centre, at 3pm on Wednesday, March 27.
After starting as a community midwife in the town, she moved to the maternity unit at Trowbridge Hospital, where she continued to deliver babies from the Melksham area.
