Man appears at court following Bradford Leigh cannabis raid

A Bradford Leigh man appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Friday accused of being involved in the cultivation of cannabis estimated to be worth £300,000.
No charge was formally put to Stephen James, 55, and he entered no plea at the hearing with him being released on unconditional bail.
The case refers to a police raid at Leigh House Farm Liveries, in Bradford Leigh, where 250 cannabis plants were found growing in a large shipping container on September 26, last year.
James' fingerprints were found on items after he had been hired as a handyman to put up some stud walling.
The crop was in various stages of growth from very young seedlings to mature plants which had been harvested which were being dried out.
Speaking after the raid Nick Hillier, who owns and runs Leigh House Farm Liveries, told of his shock at what had been found on the property.
The case has been adjourned until Friday, May 24.
