FOUR friends from Devizes have raised more than £1,700 for a cancer charity by walking around London at night clad in hand-decorated bras.

Tina Hale, of Queens Road; Gemma Lawton, of Ferguson Road; Anna Villette, of Blounts Court in Potterne; and Sarah Allen, formerly of Broadleas Road, took part in Saturday’s MoonWalk.

Mrs Villette said: “Tina did a skydive last year for breast cancer research so we decided we would do a team challenge this year. We wanted to do something for a cause close to our hearts.”

The walk attracted 17,000 people – men and women – setting off from Battersea Power Station at midnight on a half marathon or full marathon distance. The Devizes foursome made an impact in their silver space-themed outfits, topped with flashing rockets.

Mrs Villette said: “All four of us have lost family and friends to breast cancer, so we know how important the research is so future treatments can be improved and survival rates extended.”

The four completed the half-marathon distance in four hours and 40 minutes and have so far raised £1,705.
