Armed Forces Day will be marked in Corsham with a celebration of the town’s proud military connections.

A parade will pass through the town at noon on Saturday, June 29, with an inspection, speeches and salutes taken outside the town hall.

The celebrations will continue with a dog show, live entertainment, and a variety of stalls on the High Street, with chairs and picnic tables provided by the MoD.

The town centre will be closed to traffic throughout the event, and Wiltshire Council has waived all car parking charges for the day.

Corsham has a long association with the military.

The nearby MoD site hosts the specialist volunteers of the 81 Signal Squadron, and in 2010 the freedom of the town was granted to local representatives of the Army, Royal Navy and RAF.
