West Lavington Branch of the Mothers’ Union has donated computer learning programmes and equipment, described as “remote-controlled toy bugs”, to Lavington Pre-school.
Members of the MU visited the school on Friday to meet the children, aged two, three and four, school manager Victoria Knott and to see the bugs in action. Lavington Pre-School, rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted in 2012, is in West Lavington on Dauntsey’s Aided Primary School’s campus. The guests admired the pre-school’s spacious purpose built premises and saw children enjoy activity with access to the primary school’s grounds and woodland, with its views over Salisbury Plain.
The Mothers’ Union donation followed a pancake brunch held by the branch.
Leader Janet Hodges said: “We are delighted to support the school in its role of nurturing, valuing and educating children.”
Spaces at the school are available for September. Email lavingtonpreschool@ gmail.com or call Victoria Knott on (01380) 812551.
