Young actor Cameron Strefford is living out a schoolboy’s dream and testing the latest games for ITV’s This Morning programme as one of their roving reporters.

The 11-year-old, who will be starting at St John’s School, Marlborough, in September, appeared on the show’s Something for the Kids feature on Friday, reviewing The Smurfs 2 and new toy giant hex bugs.

Cameron, of Copyhold in Great Bedwyn, said: “My favourite part was meeting the presenters [Emma Bunton and Jamie Theakston], they were really nice.”

Tomorrow he will be giving a review of the new Disney Infinity game which he tested out with his brother, Benjamin, seven, at Disney HQ on Monday.

He said: “It was amazing; I think it’s one of the best games I’ve ever played.

“I haven’t really spoken to my friends about it yet but I can guess that they’d be pretty impressed.”

Cameron has been acting, singing and dancing since he was six and was signed up by top agency Sylvia Young, whose success stories have included Denise van Outen, Amy Winehouse and Swindon actress Billie Piper.

The youngster is no stranger to the screen. Last year he spent part of his Easter holiday filming a role in the film version of Les Miserables and he has also appeared in a Doctor Who Christmas special episode.

His mum, Anthea, 37, said: “It’s been a brilliant experience.

“Everything is a bit seat-of- the-pants but it’s been very exciting. There was quite a busy atmosphere at the studio and when we arrived we went through the warehouse and we could see all the sets.

“I used to work in television so it was right up my street and Cameron loved it too, so it suited us both.

“I think he would like to do something like this in the future.

“He is quite dramatic as a person and he really likes singing too, but you never know, we’ll just have to see what he wants to do when he’s a bit older.”
