A boy ran home to safety after being beckoned by a car driver on Warminster’s Westleigh estate.
Police are appealing for information about the incident on July 31, at about 7pm.
The green car, possibly a five-door hatchback, was facing Pound Street when the nine-year-old was approached by a white man in his late 30s, wearing glasses and a “snow” hat.
Inspector Alan Webb said: “We ask that the public are vigilant and report suspicious activity.”
