A charity event celebrating the memory of Sean Turner will take place on what would have been his sixth birthday, to raise money for the Lifetime Children’s Trust.
The event, at Warminster Civic Centre on August 31, will include performances by the Military Wives Choir and vocalists Gavin Sheppard and Sian Louise, as well as a balloon release and auction.
Sean, the four-year-old son of Warminster couple Yolanda and Steve Turner, died in March 2012, six weeks after his corrective surgery for a complex congenital heart condition, carried out at Bristol Children’s Hospital.
The Turners say they have been “overwhelmed” by the number of prizes donated for the Forever in our Hearts event, with a David Beckham signed Paris Saint Germain shirt and a signed cap from Jenson Button among items up for auction.
Mrs Turner said: “We have been quite overwhelmed with how brilliant everyone has been and we are hoping to raise enough money to buy several portable oxygen saturation monitors for Lifetime Children’s Trust.
“It’s a great charity and they supported us a lot with Sean’s condition, providing us with training, information and support whenever we needed it.
“They give a lot of support to children with heart complications in the community.”
Tickets for the event, which starts at 6.30pm, are £25 each and the price includes a drinks reception and a two-course meal.
