A NEW company in Calne is offering travellers peace of mind during this year’s holiday season.
Customers who buy luggage tags from OC Pin, based at the Carlton Business Park, Maundrell Road, can enjoy a relaxed holiday without the worry of losing their luggage.
OC pin is short for owner contact personal identification number and the company’s tags help to link lost items with their owners on a global basis.
The tags carry a unique 16 character alpha numeric code, which users register on the company’s secure portal along with their contact details.
If the item attached to the tag is lost and found, the finder can report it by going to the company’s secure portal and entering the code on the tag.
The company system will then automatically send a SMS text or email to the owner, providing them with the contact details of the finder.
Managing director Bob Gerrard said: “We provide a service that both protects the identity of people and enhances the return of lost or mislaid items of property.
“We are linked directly into over 2,200 baggage handling systems in airports worldwide.
“This means that baggage handlers can put our code directly into their system, which then sends an automated message to ours.
“We are already working with a number of companies such as Bagport UK who manage lost property for Heathrow Airport, among others, and are a seller of our product.”
All tags are universal and can be used on items including iPhones, iPads, cameras, golf bags, luggage and even vehicles.
