A CUSTOMER survey conducted by Bradford on Avon’s Chamber of Commerce and Bradford on Avon Community Area Network has revealed that people would like to see more clothes shops in the town.
The town’s 2013 footfall count has reduced by about 30 per cent from 2012, with car parking charges, the closure of certain shops and the availability of parking spaces cited as reasons. The survey was conducted as part of the Action for Market Towns Project and was a proactive approach to see what local customers need in the town.
From the 44 replies to the survey, 70 per cent would like to see more clothing, 59 per cent hoped for more home and garden shops and 45 per cent wanted more electrical shops.
More than a quarter said traffic was their least favourite aspect of the town, with parking second.
