A major furniture manufacturer has had a boost after its new 17,000sqm HQ in Melksham was approved by Wiltshire Council.
Herman Miller will be moving its Chippenham offices and Bath factory to a purpose-built facility on the Bowerhill Industrial Estate, bringing 150 jobs to the town.
To make way for the factory the AFC Melksham pavilion will have to be demolished, with a replacement ground to be built by the company.
A new link road connecting the estate to the A350 will also be completed at Portal Road.
Chair of Melksham Without Parish Council Richard Wood welcomed the news. He said: “The plans look brilliant.”
AFC Melksham has recently started a disabled youth football team club, which will be based at the new pavilion. Club secretary Mike Rogers said: “The fact that it will be disabled friendly is fantastic.”
