Teenager remanded on robbery charge

A TEENAGE has been remanded into custody after being charged with a robbery in North Swindon last month.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested in connection with an incident on August 12, which occurred near the bridge over Thamesdown Drive, between Haydon End and Redhouse, in which the victim was allegedly threatened with what appeared to be a firearm.
The teenager has now been charged with nine offences including robbery, possession of an imitation firearm with the intent to cause fear of violence, common assault, possession of class B drugs and handling stolen goods.
He has also been charged with another count of robbery following an incident in Ramleaze, West Swindon.
He will appear before the Swindon Youth Court on Tuesday, September 10.
