Cake decorator Mandy Dunn has come second in Sainsbury’s magazine’s cake decorating contest.
Ms Dunn, of Farleigh Wick, Bradford on Avon, was among hundreds of bakers who submitted designs for a two-tiered chocolate cake for the competition to celebrate 20 years of the magazine.
Her design was chosen for the final at the 2013 Cake and Bake show at Earl’s Court last Saturday.
Ms Dunn, 45, who runs Beautiful Birthday Cakes, won a KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer and a signed copy of Eric Lanlard’s new book, Chocolat.
She said: “I didn’t think I had a chance, but at the same time it was a bit disappointing to just miss out on first.
“It was interesting to see the different designs, as everyone had interpreted the challenge differently.”
Her business is at www.
