(68) WESTBURY ATC Squadron have been given £550 by Lynette and Andy Hobbs, publicans at The Duke in Bratton, in thanks for the cadets’ attendance and help at The Help for Heroes weekend at the pub at the end of August.
Andy heard that the squadron were raising funds towards a new minibus and was happy to be able to help them reach their goal.
The cadets now have their new wheels, having bought the bus no longer needed by the Three Villages Minibus committee in Edington, Erlestoke and Coulston). More cash came from the sale of their own old minibus, and from a donation from Chantry Court Retirement Home in Westbury, a grant from the Westbury Area Board and their own fundraising.
The squadron currently has 26 members, and the 16-seat minibus will transport them to events and activities and help to fulfil their training and dedication to the community.
